In 2014 Get Changed Theatre Company and National Trust Castle Drogo teamed up and carried out an impressive project Get Changed Makes History which combined visual and sound installations, glimpse theatre, Edwardian photo shoot and the grand finale performance Raise the Roof!
The staff at National Trust Castle Drogo nominated Get Changed Makes History for an internal National Trust ‘Bringing Places to Life’ Awards. Castle Drogo entered in the Community and Volunteering category – and WON!
The competition was tough as there were other National Trust properties which had carried out some great projects. However, feedback indicated that Get Changed Makes History was a “sensitive and engaging work with a local theatre group for adults with learning disabilities that led to a number of productions for family and visitors.”
Community Engagement Officer Paula Clarke at Castle Drogo says, “Thank you [Get Changed] so much for making this amazing project possible. I’ve said it before, but it was an absolute privilege to be involved with you.”
We are truly thrilled about the Award as we thoroughly enjoyed working with the Castle Drogo team and loved the Get Changed Makes History project.
