The Get Changed art auction event was a huge success today with a great turnout by families and our supporters and also local people from South Tawton and the surrounding area. Those who attended enjoyed musical entertainment from Moor 2 Sea – a local folk harmony group. Here are some photographs of the event. The final fund total will be announced in a few days. Thank you to everyone who attended and made the day so fantastic.

Get Changed successfully performed to delegates at the Devon Care Training Conference today at the Westpoint Centre in Exeter. A specially created Rap song accompanied a series of six short scenes depicting a variety of abuse senarios experienced by people with learning disabilities.
The short performance called ‘We Are The People’ proved to be a hard-hitting show with a message that couldn’t fail to impact emotionally on the senses of the audience.
Here are some comments from the day :- ” This performance (We Are The People) was a really great show, powerful and moving. The group performed with such confidence, professionals each and every one. Compelling acting, incredible music-making, a show to be really proud of, and all in 15 minutes. Wow”!
“We were at the Westpoint event and thought your performance was absolutely fantastic! Well done to all”!

‘What if nobody listened to you……no matter how hard you wanted them to……
How do you think you’d feel?
If everyday you faced constant abuse……people taking advantage of you, and everything I’m saying was real………..
When your friends take your cash then never pay you back…..and you don’t mind helping you just wished they’d asked……….
I ask you……..how would you feel. I ask you how would you feel?…………
If people moved on the bus when you sat down
Then continued to stare till they reached their stop
and you can hear people talking in the background…..
intimidating comment as they swear a lot……if you wanted to leave but felt trapped……scared……..and lonely and all confused…..
I ask you……what would you do. I ask you what would YOU do…………..
