Respect

Every Get Changed programme is participant-led and rooted in mutual respect and understanding where we work towards a true appreciation of the place and value of each member regardless of their ability. For 2011/13, Get Changed has chosen to specifically explore human rights and equality, focussing on the very word ‘Respect’.

 For the first time Get Changed has  participated  in the 2011 Exeter Respect Festival. This festival attracted 1300 people in 2010  and gives marginalise groups a platform to reach and interact with the general public.  (See our pictures below)

What comes next?……

Get Changed participants will produce a major theatre production in the Spring of 2012 at the Octagon Theatre Okehampton and will reach public audiences of up to 600.

It is also intended that the project will run for a second year by creating and producing a community film entitled “Respect” to be toured into schools, colleges and to social /healthcare professionals throughout the Devon region.
